Nancy Rhodes

Born, Lynchburg, Va., 1934. Undergraduate degree in studio art and art history - Randolph-Macon Woman's College; graduate work - The Parsons School of Design; further studies - The School of Visual Arts, New York University, La Grande Chaumiere, Paris, and the University of New Orleans. Residencies at The Provincetown Workshop, The MacDowell Colony and the Cité des Arts, Paris.

Experience - teacher in a private school in Virginia; also as a commercial artist and art editor for several New York City publishing companies and as an art critic for the "News Banner," Covington, La. For 5 years art critic for the Northshore edition of The New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Active in regional and national invitational and juried shows and represented in private, governmental and corporate collections, including Slidell Memorial Hospital and Medical Center and the U.S. Geological Survey and Space Center, Stennis, Ms.

Resident of Slidell, Louisiana for over 30 years. Moved to Tucson, Arizona in late 2006. This move a result of losses sustained in Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
